James L. "Booster" Flowers

James L. "Booster" Flowers, 97, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at his residence. 

Booster was born September 17, 1915, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Earl and Myrtle Taylor Flowers and was husband of the late Glendolyah Peay Flowers . He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, a World War II Army Veteran, serving 5 years, a 66 year member of Cassia Lodge #272 F&AM, past bank director at Green River Deposit Bank, retired from U.S. Soil Conservation Service, an active member of Butler County Saddle Club, financial manager of the Logansport Labor Day BBQ/dance, a life-time member of the VFW Post 5837, a retired farmer in the Logansport community and played an important role in getting water and electric to the Logansport community. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Clough and Jo Thompson.

James L. "Booster" Flowers is survived by his companion, Loraine Snyder of Bowling Green, KY; Loraine's son, Larry Kennedy and wife Michelle of Bowling Green, KY; nephews Gregory Thompson of Indianapolis Indiana, David C. Peay of Tyler Texas, and Timothy E. Peay of Big Sandy, Texas; niece Paula Peay Duff of Krugerville Texas; great-nephew Kevin Thompson of Indianapolis, Indiana; and sister-in-law Dorothy L. Peay of  Tyler, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Raymond Ward officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery where military rights will be presented by AM Vets Post #117. Visitation is Friday, July 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 2:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.  Masonic Rites being conducted by Cassia Masonic Lodge #272 at 6:00 p.m. Friday at the Jones Funeral Chapel.  Online condolences maybe made at www.jonesfuneralchapel.com.
