James "Jim" Elliott Sr.

James “Jim” Elliott Sr, 64, of Caneyville, passed away Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on Saturday, January 3rd, 1953 in Louisville, the son of the late Floyd Hall and Mallie Marie (Brooks) Elliott. James attended the Gospel Light Missionary Baptist Church in Caneyville. He was an EMT in Butler County and also a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing and car racing.
James is survived by his wife of 46 years, Loreda (Dockery) Elliott; their two sons, James W. Elliott Jr (Jamie) of Louisville and John David Elliott (Jessica) of Morehead; one brother, Bobby Elliott of Florence; one sister, Vickie Thompson (Steve) of Louisville; five grandchildren, Patrick Gibson, Jimmy Elliott, Brandi Elliott, Lauren Elliott and Jack Elliott with a sixth grandchild due in January and one great-granddaughter, Paisleigh Gibson.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 7th at 1:00 pm at the Zion Harmony Church in Butler County. Bro Charlie Lacefield will be officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Harmony Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Monday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Tuesday at the Zion Harmony Church from 10:00 am until time of service.
