James Hatcher

James Hatcher,50, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Maury Regional Medical Center.  He was the son of the late Darold Glyn and Josephine Borders Hatcher.  He loved being outdoors and was always hunting and fishing.  When he was growing up, he loved to play baseball.  He also loved to cook.  His family said he would never lie to you and would always give people a chance.  He loved his family and will be greatly missed.  He was always willing to help someone in need.

Survivors are his wife, Diana Hatcher; one son Darold James Hatcher (Leslie Morrison)of Columbia; four sisters:Carol (Frank) Stewart of Culleoka, Pam Davidson (Kenneth Steward) of Williamsport, Onie (Larry) Blocker of Columbia and Jerri Grooms of Columbia; one brother Bobby (Tammy) Hatcher of Columbia; one aunt Sidney (Horace) Chapman of Morgantown; his mother and father in-law Jean and David Harmon of Bradenton, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother in-law, Jerry Grooms. 

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 12, 2012, at Lee Cemetery, Morgantown, Kentucky with Bro. Bobby Hatcher officiating.  The family requests that memorial be made to the American Cancer Society, P O Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123-1718.  Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.  Online condolences can be made at: www.smithfuneralhome1886.com
