Due to the weather the services for Mr. James E. Cardwell has been moved to the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 11:00am.

James E. Cardwell, age 81 of Morgantown, KY, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Born on Thursday, March 11, 1943, in Butler County, KY. James was the son of the late William and Laura Belle Coleman Cardwell and was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. On January 8, 1999, James married, Avil Jones Cardwell, and together they shared 26 years of marriage.

James's is survived by his wife, Avil; his stepchildren, Chastity Ross of Owensboro, KY, Amanda M. Coyle, and Stephanie LaGrand, both of Morgantown, KY. His grandchildren, Bridgette, Angel, Jessica, and Summer; four great-grandchildren, Brentlee, Jayden, Alexander, and Kingston. James also leaves behind three sisters, Nadine, Thelma, and Justine, as well as several nieces and nephews.

For many years, James was a dedicated employee at B&R Lumber, outside of work, James was an outdoorsman. He found great pleasure in coon hunting, rabbit hunting, and fishing.

Graveside services and burial will be he at the Noah Johnson Cemetery on Tuesday, January 21, 2024 at 1:00pm.
