Jacob Willis Legge

Jacob Willis Legge, a cherished soul known for his kindness, humor, and friendly demeanor, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Morgantown, Kentucky at the age of 43. Born on Sunday, August 9, 1981, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Jacob's life was a testament to the joy and love he brought to everyone around him.

Jacob grew up in a close-knit family and was the beloved son of James and Rita Johnson Legge of Morgantown, KY. His life was enriched by the love and companionship of his two devoted sisters, Telisa Phelps (Tommy) and Amy Cardwell (Mike), both of Morgantown, KY. Jacob's heart belonged to the love of his life, Paige Wooldridge, and her son, Jackson of Morgantown, KY. He was a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews, Elesha Engler, Courtney Henderson (Jason), Wesley Phelps, and Ethan Cardwell, all of Morgantown, KY, his maternal grandfather, James Baxter of Louisville, KY, special cousins Matt and Brittany Embry of Morgantown, KY. Jacob's life was further enriched by the steadfast friendship of Chris Wallace and Jacob Gabbard, both of Morgantown, KY, and he was surrounded by numerous other cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Jacob was preceded in death by his brother, Jeff Legge, his paternal grandparents, Sherman and Oakley Lee, his maternal grandmother, Eloda Baxter, his maternal grandfather, Chester Johnson, and his special friend, Jake Hampton. Their memories remained a guiding light throughout his life.

Professionally, Jacob was a dedicated truck driver for Kysen Trucking, where he was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to form lasting bonds with his colleagues. His work was not just a job but a community where he was respected and valued. Jacob's interests were a reflection of his vibrant spirit. He was passionate about spending time with his family and friends, and his home was often the heart of get-togethers and laughter. His love for dirt track racing was more than a hobby; it was a part of who he was, and it brought him immense joy. Farming was not only a pastime but also a connection to the land. Jacob's presence was a source of entertainment and comfort to all who knew him.

Those who knew Jacob will remember him as a man who loved life to the fullest. He approached each day with a smile and a willingness to lend a hand or share a joke. His kind nature made him a friend to many, and his sense of humor brought light to even the darkest of days. Jacob's friendly approach to life ensured that he was not just a familiar face but a true friend to those he met. Jacob's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple joys of life. His memory will be carried forward in the stories shared by his loved ones and the impact he had on the community he held so dear. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 11:00am with Bro. T J Howard officiating. Burial will be in the Flatwood Cemetery where Chris Wallace, Jacob Gabbard, Cody Justis, Braxton Broesamle, Zack and Trent Lee, Ricky Lee, Ethan Cardwell and Wesley Phelps will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm and Wednesday 8:00am until funeral time at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Flatwood Cemetery, c/o Jones Funeral Chapel P.O. Box 414 Morgantown, KY 42261.
