Jack Josiah Slone

Jack Josiah Slone, a cherished son, grandson, father, fiancé, and friend, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at the age of 22. Born on June 18, 2002, in Dalton, Georgia, Josiah was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew him. He departed this world at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY, leaving behind a legacy of love and generosity that will be remembered by many.

Josiah was the son of Madeline Cruse Nix of Morgantown, KY. He was the proud grandson of Glenn and Wanda Cruse of Morgantown, KY. His brother, Houston Nix of Ellijay, GA.  Josiah's heart belonged to his fiancée, Lydia Smith of Morgantown, KY, and he was eagerly anticipating their future together. He was the father of one daughter, Parklynn Hibbard of Grayson County, and was joyfully expecting the arrival of his son, Blaze Marshall Slone, in December.

Josiah's future family, including his future mother-in-law Brandy Winchel, and future in-laws Gage Smith and Kelsey Hudnall, all of Morgantown, KY, were an integral part of his life. His extended family of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins from Ellijay, GA.

A graduate of Butler County High School's Class of 2020. He attended of Christ Covenant Church, where he found spiritual guidance and fellowship. Professionally, Josiah was a valued employee at Real Alloy, where his work ethic and team spirit were appreciated.

Josiah's passion for life was evident in his hobbies and interests. He was an avid car enthusiast, with a particular love for Mustang cars. His joy was palpable when he was outdoors, whether he was building Lego cars or simply enjoying the beauty of nature. Above all, Jack cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday, July 8, 2024 at 11:00am with Speaker Daren Bowen, Bro. Butch Jones and Bro. Woody Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Cruse Family Cemetery where Gage Smith, Alex Hudnall, Leevi King, Caleb Fowler, Jacob Cox, Carson Casey and Devun Renfrow will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Monday 8:00am until funeral time at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
