Ione B. McKinney, age 78 of Morgantown, KY passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. She was born on Sunday, May 23, 1943 in the Sugar Grove Community of Butler County, KY to the late Wilbur Guy and Helen Rubel Barkley Brooks. Ione retired from the Morgantown Family Support Office State of KY and previously worked for Houchens Industries and Nestaway. She loved watching the Atlanta Braves, listening to George Jones and watching Petey grow up.  Other than her parents she is preceded in death by two brothers Wilbur Guy Brooks Jr. and Dorris Howard "Billy" Brooks; father & mother in law Chester and Kathryn McKinney and brother in laws Mike Truelove and Phillip Lee.

Ione B. McKinney is survived by her husband of 40 years David Alan McKinney; son Peter Elijah "Petey" Phelps; two daughters Pamela Proctor and Angela Jones husband Kevin; two grandchildren Brian Jones wife Latrisha and Taylor Morgan husband Zach; one brother Robert Earl Brooks; one sister Iris Truelove; two sister in laws Gladys Brooks and Elizabeth Lee; one brother in law Bobby McKinney wife Karen and several nieces and nephews.

All services are private with burial in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
