Huey C. Coots, age 81 passed away Thursday the 12th day of January 2023 at his residence surrounded by his family. Huey was born to the union of the late Harrison and Agnes Henderson Coots on Monday the 1st day of September 1941 in Butler County, KY. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one son Huey Coots Jr., two brothers Dewey and Bobby Coots, one sister Wilma Ruth Allen and one granddaughter Adrienne Paige Phelps. Huey was a member of Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church and Cassia Lodge #272. He was the retired owner of Huey Coots & Sons Masonry Contractors, he loved working, mowing grass and the masonry business.

Huey C. Coots is survived by his wife of 60 years Vida Lee Johnson Coots of Morgantown, KY; two sons Derrick Coots wife Debbie and Daniel Coots wife Kimberly both of Morgantown, KY; three grandchildren Dustin Coots wife Samantha, Stacia Neighbors husband Eddie and Madison Coots all of Morgantown, KY; 12 great grandchildren Hayden, Kylie, Ryleigh, Brylie, Charlie N., Chevi, Emma, Charlie C., Lillian, Delilah, Findley and Willow; one brother Eddie Coots; two sisters Linda Flener husband Dale of Morgantown, KY and Dianne Reece of Indianapolis, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Monday, January 23, 2023 at 2:00pm with Bro. Greg Fields, Bro. Gary Embry and Bro. Darrell Sweets officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery where Cody Henderson, Tim Daugherty, Dustin Coots, Eddie Neighbors, John Coots and Lester Brown will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 2:00pm - 8:00pm and Monday 8:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Cassia Lodge #272 on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 6:00pm. Please share any photos, memories, condolences or light a candle in memory of Huey C.
