Gladean McCoy Givens, 89, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. She was born in Butler Co. on April 28, 1927 to the late Lucian and Thelma Jenkins McCoy. She was a member of Morgantown First Baptist Church, a homemaker and babysitter and enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clyde Givens; sister Effie June Camfield and nephew Benny Joe McCoy.

Mrs. Givens is survived by her children Gaylen Givens of Morgantown, Evon Childers of Bowling Green and Lynn Keown (Dean) of Morgantown; sister Carolyn Porter of Morgantown; brother Desper McCoy (Loyce) of Newburgh, In.; grandchildren Eric Childers (Melanie) of Georgetown, Kelli Phelps (Jim) of Morgantown, Tasha Borden (Rickey) of Bowling Green and Josh Keown (Tyann) of Louisville; great grandchildren Seth Phelps (Sheena), Tad Phelps (Stacy), Aaron Childers, Taylor Sims, Raeganne Childers, Keeli Sims and Dane Thomas Childers; great great grandchildren Marley Phelps and Amelia Sims; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at

1:00 pm with Bro. Jim McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30 from 4-8 pm and Tuesday 8 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
