Gerald Dale Phelps, 73, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Morgantown, KY passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his residence. Gerald was born August 26, 1943 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Walter and Bonnie Johnson Phelps. He was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church, a retired Army Veteran and member of the Disabled American Veterans. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons - Andrew and Anthony Phelps; one grandson - Bo Phelps; one sister - Evelyn Wallace; and five brothers - James Clifford Phelps, Jasper Arthur Phelps, Archie Ray Phelps, Elry Ernest Phelps and Charles Lee Phelps.

Gerald Dale Phelps is survived by his wife - Janice House Phelps of Bowling Green, KY.; one son - Morgan Phelps (Carol) of Bowling Green, KY.; one granddaughter - Laura Rose Phelps of Bowling Green, KY.; two step grandsons -  Nicholas Hayden and Trevor McGill of Bowling Green, KY.; three brothers - Lincoln Winston Phelps of Morgantown, KY,  David Phelps (Barbara) of Louisville, KY and Darrell Phelps (Shirley) of Louisville, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. with John Mark Jennings and Bro. Derek Cain officiating. Burial will be in the Jimmy Smith Cemetery where full military rites will be conducted by the United States Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 4:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday January 31, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 12:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
