Frieda Hammers McKinney

Frieda Hammers McKinney, 92 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Saturday February 20, 2021 at her residence. Frieda was born on Monday December 3, 1928 in Butler County, Kentucky to the union of the late Sandy Herman and Lossie Sweazey Hammers and wife of the late William A. McKinney. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and she retired from RCA in Indiana and Assistant Postmaster of the Dunbar Post Office. Frieda was the neighborhood caretaker, she loved to read, cook and garden but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one brother Elroy Hammers; three grandchildren Jaclyn Gregory, Allen Pedigo and Kevin Moran and four son in laws Lindsey Moran, William "Bill" Frazer, Donald Gregory and Jerry Pedigo.

Frieda Hammers McKinney is survived by six children Brenda Gregory (Jack) of Morgantown, KY, Kelli Fugate (Terry) of Morgantown, KY, Sandra Frazer of Greenfield, Indiana, Billy McKinney (Linda) of Southport, Indiana, Bobby McKinney (Kay) of Shelbyville, Indiana and Rita Moran of Fortville, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 17 great great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and special cousins.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday February 23, 2021 at 2:00pm with Bro. Paul Parks and Bro. Ronnie Forrest officiating. Burial will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery with Kyle Pattison, Rodney McMillin, Jake Lee, Mark Moran, Jaren Brown and Klaton Ray will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Monday February 22, 2021 from 3:00pm - 8:00pm and Tuesday 8:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
