Floyd G. Parrish, a man whose generosity of spirit and adventurous soul touched the lives of many, passed away on March 25, 2024, at the age of 69. Born on December 4, 1954, in Butler County, Kentucky, Floyd's journey came to a peaceful close in Roundhill, Kentucky, as a result of a car accident. Floyd grew up surrounded by the loving embrace of his parents, Walter and Jennie Lou Penley Parrish, and the guiding light of his grandparents, Eldon and Pearl Parrish and Bertie and Dona Goodwin. His life was further enriched by his step granddaughter, Faith Clark of Kansas, and his siblings, Bonnie Deweese of Jetson, KY, Greg Parrish (Becky) of Roundhill, KY, Doug Parrish of Jetson, KY, and Tammy Childres (Dean) of Jetson, KY. Floyd's life was a testament to the power of family and friendship, which was evident in his friendship, Marliyn Raymer, of Roundhill, KY and the many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory.

Floyd was a man of faith and fellowship, a long-time member of the Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church, where he found solace and strength in the community and his beliefs. His faith was as much a part of him as his love for the open road and the companionship of those he met along the way. Professionally, Floyd dedicated many years of service as a supervisor at Community Action of Kentucky, where his leadership and expertise were greatly valued. His skills as a licensed electrician and his reputation as a jack of all trades made him a respected figure in both his professional and personal life.

In his leisure time, Floyd's passion for traveling, antique cars, and car shows was evident to all who knew him. He was a very social person, always eager to share stories and laughter with friends and family alike. Floyd's presence was a source of joy at gatherings, his adventurous spirit always leading him to the next exciting experience. Floyd was a man described by those who loved him as adventurous, generous, and faith-filled. His approach to life can be encapsulated by the words of Helen Keller: "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." Floyd embraced this philosophy wholeheartedly, living each day with the courage to seek out new horizons and the kindness to bring others along for the ride.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Martha Gayle Pearson Parrish, and his nephew, Nicholas Parrish, Floyd leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and the unspoken wisdom of a life well-lived. His presence will be profoundly missed, but the stories of his adventures and the memories of his unwavering generosity will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. Floyd G. Parrish's life was a vivid tapestry woven with the threads of joy, discovery, and unwavering faith. As his family and friends bid farewell to this remarkable man, they take solace in knowing that his journey, though it has reached its earthly end, continues on in the hearts and minds of all who were touched by his indomitable spirit.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00am with Bro. Brian Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Plano Baptist Church Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 12:00pm - 8:00pm and Friday 8:00am until funeral time at 11:00am at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
