Flora Mae Whittaker, 71 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at her daughter's residence in Morgantown, Ky. Flora Mae was born on Wednesday, May 10, 1944, in Huntington West Virginia to the late Elmer and Sarah Billups Davis. She attended Cool Springs General Baptist Church and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter Jewell Rebecca Whittaker and three sisters Judy Davis, Susie Davis and JoAnn Hamblin.
Flora Mae Whittaker is survived by one daughter Laverne Burns and husband Ken of Morgantown, Ky.; one son John Kevin Whittaker and wife Jessica of Canmer, Ky.; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers Zeke Davis of Corbin, Ky. and Bob Davis and wife Lois of Corbin, Ky.; three sisters Pat Morgan and husband Jess of Corbin, Ky., Bit Sharp and husband Leland of Corbin, Ky. and Martha Devine of Apopka, Florida; father of her children John Whittaker of Corbin, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Cool Springs General Baptist Church Tuesday, March 15, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held at the Hart Funeral Home in Corbin, Ky. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday 9:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am at the Hart Funeral Home in Corbin, Ky. Funeral services will be held at the Hart Funeral Home Thursday, March 17, 2016, at 11:00 am with Bro. Ken Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Family Cemetery in Corbin, Ky.
