FISCAL COURT: Henderson gives quarterly report; recycling, solid waste position filled
Butler County Fiscal Court meet in regular session on Monday, January 11. The meeting was called to order with First District Magistrate Stevie Givens absent due to illness. The minutes were approved from the December 22, 2015 meeting.
Emergency Management Director Richard Henderson gave his quarterly report to the court. According to the report, Henderson has been on three incidents as standby support if needed. Butler County Rescue Squad has responded to 137 calls in 2015, including 45 calls in the last quarter. Fiscal year allocations are out and Butler County’s allocation is $14,124.58. Henderson reported trainings, meetings, and solid waste information. Henderson also shared a thank you letter from the Department of Interior and the court approved an Order of Affiliation for the Butler County Rescue Squad.

In other business the court approved taking applications for a full-time position at the Rochester Ferry. Magistrates also approved the second reading on policy and procedures. The biggest change to the policy and procedurtes is that any employee who works more than 30 hours per week will be offered insurance.
The court then approved bills and transfers, treasurer’s monthly and quarterly reports, before going into closed session. The court reviewed five applicants for the Recycling/Solid Waste Coordinator position. Upon returning to open session the court hired Corey Raymer. The position is a part-time position paying $10 per hour.
