Finley W. Phelps, age 72, passed away at his residence in Roundhill, Kentucky, on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Born on Thursday, September 25, 1952, in Butler County, Kentucky. Finley was preceded in death by his loving parents, Forrest and Arie Aline Johnson Phelps, his brother Forrest Woody Phelps, and his sister Reta Cardwell. His memory will be treasured and kept alive by his wife, Ruth Grismer Phelps, and his siblings: Frankie Phelps of Roundhill, KY, Kathy Dockery of Morgantown, KY, Joseph Phelps of Morgantown, KY, and Joy Henderson of Roundhill, KY. His numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the Brownsville Masonic Lodge and a retired carpenter by trade, Finley was known for his exceptional craftsmanship, as he found joy and purpose in making knives. Finley's love for carpentry extended beyond his professional life. Finley's passion for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. His garden was a place of pride, where he spent countless hours tending to his plants and vegetables.

All services are private with burial in the Phelps Family Cemetery in Roundhill, KY. Arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.
