Exie O. (Basham) Miller

Exie O. Miller, 93, who loved to be called Grandma by her beloved family,  passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center.  
Exie was born in Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Euen and Elsie Basham, on October 21, 1928. 
Exie was the wife of the late Shelby Ray Miller.  Both grew up in Morgantown, Kentucky.  
Exie is survived by her daughter,  Janie Miller Thompson (Jim) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; her two grandsons, Christopher Cardwell (Heather) of Georgetown, Kentucky and Andrew Cardwell (Megan) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and by the “great grands”, Benjamin Cardwell, Shelby Grace Cardwell, Allie Cardwell, Cathryn Cardwell and Samuel Cardwell. 
Exie is also survived by her siblings, Elizabeth Maynard of Russellville, Kentucky, OJ Basham of Morgantown, Kentucky and Loretta Elliott of Russellville, Kentucky. 
Exie was a member of the Morgantown Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  She served as a Silver Patron Member of the Silver Patron of Missions. She was also awarded Perpetual Member in the church’s mission program.  
Exie was preceded in death by her siblings, Deacon Earl Basham, Charlotte Hendrick and Gwyn H. Basham. 
Chocolate pies, Angel biscuits, and a good catfish dinner at Grandma’s house, was always the best. Meals around her table, a good glass of sweet tea, coupled with her stories, will last in our hearts forever. Thank you for always teaching us the ways of the Lord. We will see you again very soon. 

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 2pm at Smith Funeral Home. Bro. David Hocker will officiate. Burial will be held in the Little Muddy Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 24, 2022 From 11am-2pm at Smith Funeral Home.
