Ernesteen J. Childers, 78 of Morgantwon, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at her residence. Ernesteen was born July 24, 1934, in Butler County, Ky. to the late Boyd and Effie Hawks Johnson. She was a member of Leonard Oak General Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by one son Marvin Childers; 5 brothers; Geoffrey, Leslie, Sonny, Eugene and McClellon Johnson and one sister Mavis Shultz. Childers is survived by 3 daughters Martha Hunt and husband Eddie of Morgantown, Ky., Sandy Sweitzer and husband Scott of Bowling Green, Ky., and Theresa Garrett husband Barry of Glasgow, Ky.; 8 grandchildren Mareesa Johnson and husband Mike of Morgantown, Ky., Terri Amos and husband Josh of Morgantown, Ky., Andrew Deweese and wife Jodie of Morgantown, Ky., Amanda Lynch and husband Jeff of Morgantown, Ky., Felicia Lee of Roundhill, Ky., Jennifer Guffy of Tompkinsville, Ky., Alexis Gaw of Glasgow and Dakota Gaw of Glasgow, Ky.; 11 great grandchildren; 1 sister Nadine West of Morgantown, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, March 9, 2013, at 1:00pm with Bro. Tommy West officiating. Burial will be in the Fanny Rone Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday, March 8, 2013, from 3:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday from 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
