Emogene Jones

Emogene Jones age 85 of Morgantown, KY passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her family, born on August 31, 1940, she lived with remarkable strength and an even greater heart. She raised her children with determination, tenderness, and unwavering devotion, always making sure they knew they were loved beyond measure. Her children were the center of her world, and being their mother was the greatest role of her life.

As a devoted single mother, Emogene selflessly took on the responsibilities of both mother and father, sacrificing without hesitation and loving without limits. She poured herself into her children, standing beside them through every season of life with steadfast love and quiet resilience.

She worked for 25 years at Kellwood sewing factory, where her strong work ethic reflected the same dedication she showed at home. A faithful member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church, her faith guided her life and shaped the way she loved and served others. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and spending time with her family.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was blessed with the love of her children, Rebecca Austin (David), Darrell Embry, (Deanna), Denise Burden (Charles), Kim Coots (Daniel), and Jennifer Dockery (Greg); 12 grandchildren Christy White (Mike) of Morgantown, KY, Patricia Bay of Morgantown, KY, Eric Cook (Judy) of Bowling Green, KY, Brittany Austin (Cole) of Bowling Green, KY, Matthew Embry (Brittany) of Morgantown, KY, Jessica Cardwell (Jaysen) of Baizetown, KY, Tiffany Burden of Leitchfield, KY, Dustin Coots (Samantha) of Morgantown, KY, Stacia Neighbors (Eddie) of Morgantown, KY, Hannah Powers (Zane) of Meade County, Hunter Dockery of Lexington, KY and Isabella Dockery of West View, KY and 28 great-grandchildren; as well as her brothers, Terry Findley (Estella) and Dennie Findley (Pat), and her brother-in-law, Billy Burden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wavy and Sina Findley; her sister, Barbara Burden; and her beloved grandchild, Adrienne Paige.

Emogene will always be remembered for her selfless heart, her quiet strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely to her children. Her love lives on through her family and will continue to be felt for generations.

Funeral services will be held at the Oak Ridge General Baptist Church, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00pm with Bro. Jewel Martin and Bro. Denley Findley officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery where Matthew Embry, Eric Cook, Dustin Coots, Hunter Dockery, Jaysen Cardwell and Eddie Neighbors will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday 10:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at Oak Ridge General Baptist Church.
