Elzie R. Hoops, 87, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his residence. Elzie was born on January 3, 1928 in Butler Co., Ky. to the late Elzie and Dicie Smith Hoops. He was retired from B & R Lumber and enjoyed singing. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson James Hayes, Daughter Bertha Ann Hayes Sister Nettie Basham, brother William "Wiggie" Smith.

Mr. Hoops is survived by his two children Roger Dale Hoops of Evansville, In., Ricky Lynn Hoops of Hopkinsville, Ky.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one brother Jimmy Smith of Morgantown; one sister Hettie Williams of Morgantown.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Bro. Robert Beliles officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday 8 am til time of service at 2:00 pm at Smith Funeral Home, Morgantown, Ky.
