Elizabeth Woosley

Elizabeth Woosley, age 89, of Louisville, KY, a beacon of love and selflessness, left this world on September 6, 2024 at the Glen Ridge Health Campus in Louisville, KY. Born on January 9, 1935, in Butler County, Kentucky, she grew to be a person whose thoughtfulness touched everyone she knew.

A devoted homemaker throughout her life, Elizabeth channeled her love and energy into creating a nurturing home for her cherished family. Her unwavering dedication was the foundation upon which her family thrived. Elizabeth attended Hopewell Baptist Church in Louisville, KY, where she made lifelong friendships.

Elizabeth's life was rich with the joy of raising five wonderful children: Rick Woosley of Louisville, KY, Sheila Johnson of Louisville, KY, Nancy Woosley of Mt. Washington, KY, Lisa Woosley of Louisville, KY, and Mark Woosley (Leanne) of Williamstown, KY. Her legacy further blossomed with four adored grandchildren: Shawn Woosley of Mt. Washington, KY, Chris Johnson of Louisville, KY, Isaac Woosley of Florence, KY, and Jacob Woosley of Williamstown, KY, as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Isaac Woosley, who she married of October 15, 1951, her parents Wiley F. Embry and Nancy Elizabeth Crain Brown, and several brothers and sisters, Elizabeth now joins them in peaceful rest.

Elizabeth's interests included antiquing and shopping, but most importantly, spending time with her family. These moments were the treasures of her life. Elizabeth was the epitome of love, thoughtfulness, and selflessness. Her memory will live on as an exemplar for all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by her loved ones.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jim McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the Jones Funeral Chapel from 10:00 AM until funeral time at 1:00 PM.
