Elgie Johnson,77 of Rochester, Kentucky, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013, at his residence. Elgie was born February 18, 1936 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to the late Will and Bivie Sumner Johnson. He was a member of Belton Pentecostal Church and retired from General Electric. He was preceded in death by one daughter Pamela Finck; three sisters Mary Edwards, Lois Jenkins and Glodean Hester and three brothers Arley, Paul, and Kenneth Johnson.
Elgie Johnson is survived by his wife Alma Arnold Johnson of Rochester, Ky.; one son Michael Johnson and wife Shawna of Huntington Beach, CA; one granddaughter Becky Sanders and husband Chris of West Point, NY; three grandsons Michael Finck wife Angela of Tampa, FL., Trenton Aschoff of Huntington Beach, CA and Brayden Johnson of Huntington Beach, CA; two great grandchildren Colby and Rylan Sanders of West Point, NY; two brothers Leland Johnson and wife Ruby of Rochester, Ky., and Bobby Johnson of Benton, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00pm with Bro. Barry Grogan, Bro. Charles Shepherd and Bro. Vernon Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Grove Cemetery in Muhlenberg County Kentucky. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Friday 8:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.Expression of sympathy may be made to the Andrea's Mission for Men, P.O.
