Edra Dean Hampton

Edra Dean Hampton, 73, of  Morgantown passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.  She was born in Butler Co. on February 8, 1943 to the late James H. Ward and Elizabeth Martin Ward.  Edra studied with the Jehovah Witness, she served a term with the Morgantown City Council.  Edra was an entrepreneur in Morgantown having opened several businesses throughout the years, such as the Bears Den and the Hillside Restaurant.   She most recently had several real estate rental properties she managed.  She was preceded in death by her Father, brother Wilbur D. Ward and nephew Christopher D. Ward.
 
Edra Dean is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bobby Hampton of Morgantown. 2 sons; James Gregory Hampton & wife Renee of Morgantown. Kevin Ward Hampton and wife Julie of Morgantown. 3 grandsons; Josh Hampton & wife Jennifer of Morgantown. Landon Hampton and wife Andrea of Bowling Green. Jacob Hampton of Morgantown. 1 great grand daughter; Laney Bell Hampton of Morgantown.  Mother Elizabeth Ward of Morgantown.
 
Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m.   Burial will be private.  Visitation will be Tuesday, May 10 from 3:30-8pm and Wednesday, May 11 from 8am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make contributions payable to Butler County Cancer Assistance and Butler County Arts Guild.
