Edith M. Whitaker, 80, of Millwood, passed away Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015 at her residence.

She was born on March 5th, 1935 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Emmitt Thomas and Lucy Mae (Phelps) Embry. Edith was a homemaker and loving mother. She enjoyed gardening and sewing in her spare time.

Edith is survived by her three sons, Ronnie White (Sharon) of Butler County, Jay White (Jessica) of Millerstown, and Thomas White (Bobby) of Millwood; three daughters, Kay White (Rodney) of Leitchfield, Wanda Brooks (Lannie) of Caneyville, and Gail Riggs (Thomas) of Millwood; one sister, Zonie Riggs of Caneyville; sixteen grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant son Darrel Jr, and her sister Neva Morgan.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 6th at 1:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Pete Farris will be officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Harmony Cemetery in Butler County.

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Friday after 12:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am until time of service.
