Earl Edwin Robertson

Earl Edwin Robertson, age 90 of Morgantown, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Born on Thursday, January 17, 1935, in State Line, Mississippi, Earl's life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and gentleness that he embodied.

 

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Lena Modena Robertson, and his siblings R.C., John Jr., M.L., Emmitt, and Cecil Robertson, Carol Williams, Mildred Franklin, Arlene Dearman, and Margie Davis. His memory will be forever cherished by his beloved wife of nearly 68 years, Betty Casey Robertson, whom he married on September 23, 1947. Together, they built a life filled with love and dedication.

Loving father to his two children, Vonda Flores (Allan) of Morgantown, KY, and Karen Dacanay of Chicago, IL. Earl's legacy continues through his three grandchildren, Alec Flores of Morgantown, KY, and Samual and Kaitlin Dacanay of Chicago, IL. Earl is also survived by his siblings Violet Kendrick of Houston, Texas, Bonnie Pulliam of Mississippi, Herbert Robertson of Baton Rouge, LA, and Gertie Parnell of Leakesville, TX, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A proud United States Army Veteran, Earl served his country with honor and dignity. Earl retired from EJ&E Railroad and also served as a Board member for EJ&E Credit Union and attended Barnetts Lick Missionary Baptist Church.

Earl's passion for the outdoors was unmistakable. He was a an avid gardener, enjoyed hunting and fishing which provided not only sustenance but also a deep connection to the natural world. Earl's fondness for taking long walks on his property allowed him moments of reflection and peace.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at 2:00pm with Bro. Chad Bewley officiating. Burial will be in the Isiah Evans Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
