Dwight Edward West
Dwight Edward West, fondly known as Eddie to his friends and family, passed away on January 20, 2025, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY, after a life characterized by warmth and generosity. Born in Hartford, KY on September 19, 1956, Eddie's early life was filled with the love of his late parents Cecil and Susie West, and the camaraderie of his siblings.
Eddie's laughter and kind-hearted spirit left a lasting impression on everyone he met. His passion for tractors, affinity for music, and love for John Wayne movies, were matched only by his sense of humor. As the owner of West Timber Co., Eddie was known for his friendly demeanor and the generous support he provided to both his colleagues and community.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Jade White of Morgantown, KY, and his cherished grandchildren, Lawson White and Kole Howard, both of Morgantown, KY, whose lives he influenced with joy and laughter. Eddie's presence will also be profoundly missed by his significant other, Dale Crain of Bowling Green, KY.
Eddie's memory will be honored by his siblings: Ray West (Alice) of Morgantown, KY, Lois Phelps of Louisville, KY, Dorothy Kirby of Morgantown, KY, Joyce McKinney (Sammy) of Morgantown, KY, Wilma Tomes (Miles) of Morgantown, KY, Cecil West Jr. (Anita) of Bardstown, KY, and Janice Pharris (Teddy) of Morantown, KY. A host of nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, Eddie is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Brown West and his brother, Ronald West. Though their absence marked his journey, the stories and love they shared will forever be part of his remembered history.
A graveside service will be held of Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:00am at Monticello Church Cemetery with Bro. Harold West officiating. Lawson White, Randy Phelps, Aaron Riley, Donald Miller, Teddy Pharris and Savyon Howard will serve as pallbearers.
