Dorothy Ann Cox Brooks, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully at her residence in Morgantown, Kentucky, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 94. Born on November 23, 1931, in Butler County, Kentucky, Dorothy's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and the joy she found in the simplest pleasures.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Tossom and Clora Elms Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James A. Brooks, her son Allen Brooks Sr., her grandsons Barry and Terry Brooks, her sister Alice Lou Cox, and her brother Emmett T. Cox. Her legacy continues through her son, Bobby Brooks of Morgantown, KY, her grandchildren Allen Brooks Jr. (Tammy), Darrel Brooks (Amanda), Jennifer McCombs (Todd), Melissa Clark (Jason), Sherry Brooks (James), Barbara White (Kevin), Carl Brooks (Amanda), Ashlee Dockery (Keith), Amber Phelps (John), Brandon Brooks (Melissa), and Evan Hollowell, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.

For 40 years, Dorothy dedicated her professional life to Kanes Sewing Factory, she was also a faithful member of Leonard Oak General Baptist Church. Dorothy's love for her flowers and garden was a reflection of her nurturing soul. Above all, Dorothy's greatest interest was spending time her family.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, January 15, 2026 at 1:00pm with Bro. Randall Deweese officiating. Burial will be in the Noah Johnson Cemetery where James, Trent, Stephen, Carl and Bronson Brooks, Chad Frank, Ethan McCombs and Evan Hollowell will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Thursday 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
