Doris Curtsinger

Doris E. Curtsinger, a beacon of love and wisdom, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY. Born on September 23, 1936, in Elizabethtown, KY, Doris's life was a testament to the strength and compassion that she embodied.

Doris was the cherished daughter of the late Oscar Sharp and Virginia Lyons Hicks. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Curtsinger, Jr., her son Ray Green, her daughter Deborah Newland, and her granddaughter Shannon Tarrence. Her legacy continues through her surviving children, Virginia Tarrence (Ralph), Brian Green (Sharon), and Bennett Lacefield, all of Roundhill, KY. Doris was a proud grandmother to nine grandchildren, a great-grandmother to sixteen, and a great-great-grandmother to four. Doris is also survived by one sister Sue Harlow of Louisville, KY.

A devoted homemaker, Doris dedicated her life to creating a warm and nurturing home for her family. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, and she was of Church of Christ faith. Doris's intelligence shone brightly in her love for reading, and a fan of the television show Jeopardy. Those who knew Doris would describe her as loving, intelligent, and interesting. She had a unique ability to engage with people from all walks of life, making each person feel special.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 12:00pm with Bro. Bruce Lindsey officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield, KY. Visitation will be held on Wednesday September 25, 2024 from 9:30am until funeral time at 12:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
