Donald E. "Pure D" Kessinger, age 77 of Morgantown, KY passed away Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Donald was born in Dexterville, KY on Wednesday, August 7, 1946 to the union of the late Otis E. and Nova Pharris Kessinger. He retired from Kellwood Corporation after more than 20 years. Donald enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening, hunting and fishing, surveying local farms while driving his Ranger, and attending New Liberty Baptist Church where he was a member. Donald was a friend to many and was always there with a helping hand. His legacy is his family and life of service to others. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Maggie Casey Kessinger and one brother Hank Kessinger. 

Donald E. Kessinger is survived two daughters Kina K. Phelps and husband Tim of Georgetown, KY and Tonita Browning and husband Chad of Greenville, KY; stepson Greg Ellis and wife Melissa of Allen County, KY; one granddaughter Maggie Scholl and husband David of Lexington, KY; one grandson Jordan Jeffers of Seattle, Washington and two great grandchildren Theodore and Carrigan Payne of Lexington, KY. 

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00pm with Bro. Gene Garner, Bro. Stevie Joe Pharris and Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Isiah Evans Cemetery where Josh Flener, Levi Flener, Eric Martin, Tony Oliver, Greg Ellis and Lance Ellis will serve as pallbearers and Jimmy Mitchell and Arlen Flener will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 9:30 am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
