Deronda H. Brooks, age 88 of Morgantown, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Born on Sunday, August 1, 1937, in Morgantown, Kentucky, to late Ed and Hazel Casey Lindsey. Deronda's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit and the love she shared with those around her.

Deronda's journey through life was one marked by devotion and service. She was the loving wife of the late Youndle Leon Brooks, with whom she shared over six decades of marriage, filled with mutual respect and affection. Deronda was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Lindsey, whose memory she held dear.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Lee Brooks (Cindy) of Morgantown, KY; her grandson, Seth Tyler Brooks of Morgantown, KY; her granddaughter, Raven Elizabeth Clemmons (Kacy) of Chalybeate, KY; and eight great-grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her brother, Doug Lindsey (Sharon) of Morgantown, KY, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

For 20 years, Deronda was a familiar face to the children of Butler County as she safely transported them to and from school as a dedicated bus driver for the Butler County Board of Education. Her commitment to her community extended beyond her professional role as she attended Barnetts Lick Missionary Baptist Church and selflessly volunteered for various organizations, touching many lives through her kindness and generosity.

Deronda's role as a homemaker was one she embraced with joy and excellence. She loved, cooking for family and friends, her love for reading was profound, and she found great pleasure in sharing stories with her grandchildren. A life member of Banock Lodge and Eastern Star, Deronda's involvement in these organizations reflected her commitment to fellowship and community service.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 2:00pm with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery where her family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm and Sunday 11:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
