David Griffin "Tut" Miller, III

U.S. Veteran David Griffin Miller, III, age 77 of Sowers Place, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning July 29, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday August 3, 2015 at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Jamie Armstrong and Rev. Doug Rowe officiating. There will be no public visitation. Inurnment in the church Columbarium will be private.

David was born in Butler County, KY October 3, 1937 to Dr. David Griffin Miller, Jr. and Ida Blanche Hudson Miller. David was a graduate of The University of Louisville where he received his Degree in Mechanical Engineering and his Masters. He also attended Xavier University. He was a retired employee of PPG where he was Project Manager. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force serving as First Lieutenant. At First Methodist he was a Lay Leader, Member of the United Methodist Men and served many areas within the church. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, Homeless Shelter and served many areas for the church and community. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, member of AOPA, private pilot and a craftsman of Violins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Sarah Kathryn Miller.

David is survived by his wife Sarah Peden Miller; daughters, Stephanie Miller Berrier (Mark) of Lexington, Heather Lea Miller Koonts (Matt) of Climax; sons, Daniel George Miller (Linda) and Michael Gavin Miller (Robin) all of Lexington; grandchildren, Lauren Miller Dobbins (Tyler), Kathryn Laine Berrier, Dalton Gray Miller, Audrey Claire Berrier and Nathanael Weldon Koonts; great-grandchildren, Arabella Hayden Miller, Jonah Miller Dobbins and Spencer Colton Dobbins.
