David Edwin Hazelip, 57 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday November 14, 2014 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. David was born October 28, 1957 in Warren County Kentucky to the late Harold and Jean Hazelip who survives. He was a member of Fountain Baptist Church in Fountain, Florida and attended Belmont General Baptist Church, member of Cassia Lodge #272 and The Scottish Rite. David loved sports. As a young man, he played baseball and football for his high school team. David took pride in completing task to the best of his ability, no matter how big or small. He showed how much he loved Jesus and his church by his actions. He worked behind the scenes and on the stage in the church programs. Most of all, he loved to sing in the choir. He will be greatly missed by his church family.
David Hazelip is survived by his mother Jean Hazelip of Morgantown, Ky.; one brother Donald Hazelip of Panama City, FL; two uncles Shirley Flener wife Angie of Morgantown, Ky. and Jimmy Flener wife Christine of Morgantown, Ky.; one aunt Joyce Flener of Morgantown, Ky.; three cousins Barbara Riddle of Morgantown, Ky., Beth White husband Lewis of Morgantown, Ky. and Leigh Jolley husband David of Louisville, Ky.; extended family Terry, Mary, John and Brandon Hightower of Sneads, FL. and several other cousins and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 2:00pm with Bro. T.J. Howard officiating with burial at 10:00am Monday, November 17, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, Ky. Visitation will be held on Saturday November 15, 2014 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Sunday, November 16, 2014 from 10:00am until funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
