Darlene June Arnold, age 80, of Bowling Green, departed this life Monday, June 17, 2019 at Hospice in Bowling Green to go and be with our Lord Jesus Christ. She was born July 5, 1938 to the late Ellis and Addie Cook in Butler County, Kentucky.
Darlene loved her family. She loved going to church and meeting new friends. She had a passion for sending and receiving occasional and greeting cards. Darlene had a close bond with her daughter, Vickie as they were in contact with each other daily.
She loved sitting on the patio watching little wrens feed their babies, and watching squirrels and red birds steal tomatoes from the garden. Darlene was a marvelous house keeper. She loved a well maintained and landscaped lawn.
She was preceded in death by one sister LouVelle McKinney, and two brothers Bud and Jesse Cook. Darlene is survived by her husband Donnie Max Arnold; one daughter and son-in-law Vickie Darlene Logan and John M. Logan; three sisters Mary Shuler of Pell City, AL, Elaine Anderson (Rex) of Louisville, KY, and Juanita “Cookie” Coyle of Madisonville, KY; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2019 at the J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel with visitation from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Burial will take place at Bowling Green Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, the American Cancer Society, and/or the Arthritis Foundation.
