Christine Simmons Massey, 78 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday,April 9, 2013 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Christine was born November 21, 1934 in Farner Tennessee to the late Fulton and Charlotte Dorothy Gibson Newman and wife of the late Richard Robert Simmons and Howard Massey. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Bowling Green, Ky. and a retired CNA.
she was preceded in death by one son Gary Simmons, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Christine Simmons Massey is survived by 3 daughters Debbie Dockery and husband Tommy of Morgantown, Ky., Janice Turner and husband Bobby of Caneyville, Ky,. and Susan Parker and husband Wesley of Morgantown, Ky.; son Jerry Simmons wife Beverly of Morgantown, Ky.; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; brother Calvin Newman of Farner, Tenneessee; 4 sisters Betty Adams and husband Ray of Farner, Tenneessee, Mary Jo Payne of Farner, Tenneessee, Hattie Lois Maney of Jackson South Carolina and Barbara Sue Lewis of Atlanta Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Friday, April 12, 2013 at 1:00pm with Bro. Jim McDaniels officiating. Burial will be in the Sandy Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursda,y April 11, 2013 from 3:30 pm - 8:00pm and Friday 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
