Chester A. Taylor

Chester A. Taylor, age 94 of Welches Creek, KY passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Chester was born on Wednesday January 26, 1927 in the Casey Community of Butler County, KY to the late Roscoe and Elfie Flener Taylor and husband of 59 years to the late Abilene Lacefield Taylor. He was a member of Barnetts Lick Missionary Baptist Church and attended Belmont General Baptist Church for the past 10 years. Chester was a World War II Army Veteran serving from 1945 - 1946, he was stationed in Japan and Germany for 13 months. Chester was a farmer and mechanic, retiring from the Warren County School Bus Garage. He lived and farmed in the Welches Creek area. He loved watching UK Basketball, farming and horses. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by two sisters Corine Alford and Dimple Taylor.

Chester A. Taylor is survived by one daughter Melissa Lamar husband Wayne; four sons Milton Taylor wife Donna, Terry Taylor wife Kathleen, Wally Taylor wife Rhonda and William Taylor wife Melinda all of Morgantown, KY; 9 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one brother Ivan Taylor wife Louise of Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm with Bro. Todd Leach officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Union Cemetery where military rights will be observed by the Leitchfield American Legion Post 81 Honor Guard, serving as pallbearers will be Josh, Hunter, Willie and William Taylor and Cody Lamar. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday 8:00 am until funeral time at 1:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
