Charles L. Amos, 73 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday February 2, 2014 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. Charles was born April 24, 1940 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Herman Dallas and Ethel Dee Shepherd Amos. Charles graduated from Butler County High School Class of 1959. He enlisted in the United States Army after graduation and served 2 1/2 years. He returned to Morgantown, Ky. and married his wife Paula Amos on April 29, 1962. Charles began a career in manufacturing that lead him and his family to Louisville, Ky. where he was employeed by International Harvester while keeping close ties to his rural heritage. Charles was also employed by Sumintono Electric Wiring System and the Butler County Board of Education. He is preceded in death by three brothers Dallas, Clarence and Curtis Amos and one sister Margaret West.

Amos is survived by his wife Paula Amos of Morgantown, Ky.; two daughters Sherri De-Ann Amos of Morgantown, Ky. and Selina Kay Coots husband Harold of Morgantown, Ky.; two sons Philip Wayne Amos Lafayette, TN and Ersley Edward Amos of Morgantown, Ky.; two brothers Gordon Amos wife Edith of Morgantown, Ky. and Edward Maurice Amos of Morgantown, Ky.; grandson Leo Alvin Phelps III son of Leo Alvin Phelps II and Sherri De-Ann Amos of Bowling Green, Ky.; granddaughter Samantha Coots daughter of Harold an Selina Kay Coots of Morgantown, Ky.; grandson Noah Adam Coots son of Harold and Selina Coots of Morgantown, Ky.; grandsons Jordan Tyler, Justin Vance both of Lafayette, Tn and Jaxsen Layne Amos of Browder, Ky. sons of Phillip Amos and Faith Roberson; great grandchild Ava Nicole Coots daughter of Samantha Coots of Morgantown, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday February 6, 2014 at 2:00pm with Bro. Brian Proctor and Bro. Kenny Hart officiating. Burial will be in the Minton Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday February 5, 2014 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Thursday 8:00am til funeral time at 2:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Online condolences may be made at www.jonesfuneralchapel.com
