Charles Edward “Charlie” Clark

Charles Edward “Charlie” Clark, age 89 of Louisville, went to Heaven on Sunday, July 1, 2018. He was born in Logansport, Kentucky on December 20, 1928 where he lived until moving to Louisville in his early 20’s. He was a Mason affiliated with the Morgantown Lodge Cassia 272, and retired from General Electric in 1988. Charlie was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends. He lived his entire life with a servant’s heart. His smile was infectious. He is one who clearly heard “Well done, good and faithful servant” from his Lord and Savior. He will be missed by all who knew him. Charlie was the son of the late Foster and Lula Clark. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Preston and Clayborn Clark. Charlie lived a full and joyful life.

Charlie is survived by his devoted wife of 71 years, Myrl Maxine Clark; daughter, Sandra Allgeier (Rick); son, Gregory Clark; grandchildren, Holli Stanley (Rob), Chad Hague (Lisa), Samantha Sawyer (Jeff), Chelsey Owen (Mitch), Chelsea Baskerville (Mark), Joshua Clark (Jackie), Alex Clark (Stephanie); 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 2-5pm on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown, followed by a celebration of Charlie’s life at 5pm. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 8th at 1pm Central Time in Salem Cemetery in Logansport, Kentucky. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be made to the Salem Cemetery fund.
