Charles Dwayne Cardwell, 75 of Morgantown, KY passed away Sunday January 19, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY surrounded by those he loved. He was born September 26, 1944 in Butler County, Kentucky to the union of Arvel and Vernie Mae Johnson Cardwell. Charles was retired from the Ford Motor Company in Louisville, Kentucky and a member of the United Auto Workers. He was a avid UK Basketball fan, a jokester, cutup and he never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father, pappy, gramps and great gramps. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Pansy Parks and Effie Jo French and two brothers Fred and Rod Cardwell.

Charles Dwayne Cardwell is survived by his wife of 43 years Debbie Wise Cardwell of Morgantown, KY; one daughter Paula Vanderpool (Alan) of Blackey, KY; one son Arvel Dwayne Cardwell (Holly) of Morgantown, KY; one grandson Manuel Vanderpool (Amanda) of Blackey, KY; one granddaughter Amelia Faith Cardwell of Morgantown, KY; two great grandsons Asher and Weston Vanderpool of Blackey, KY; one half sister Enaleen Smith (Doug) of Morgantown, KY and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday January 23, 2020 at 1:00pm with Bro. Wendell Embry officiating. Burial will be held in the Butler Phelps Cemetery where Arvel Dwayne Cardwell, Amelia Faith Cardwell, Alan Vanderpool, Manuel Vanderpool, Tim French, Doug Parks and Paula Vanderpool will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 22, 2020 from 11:00am - 8:00pm and Thursday 8:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
