Charlene Johnson Smith

Charlene Johnson Smith, age 69 of Morgantown Ky., passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville TN. Charlene was born on November 26, 1951 in Louisville, Ky. to the late Charles O. and Imogene Childers Johnson. She was a member of Temple Hill General Baptist Church, where she served as clerk/treasurer for many years. Charlene retired from the Butler County Board of Education after many years as a teacher and as Principal of 4th District Elementary. She loved each and every student as her own, and spending time with her family and serving in the church.

Charlene Johnson Smith is survived by 2 sons Matthew Smith and wife Brandie and Charlie Smith both of Morgantown KY, her grandchildren Mattie, Parker, Abbie, Lilly, Maggie and Kale Smith; father of her children Philip Smith of Morgantown Ky.; two sisters Anita West and husband Alan and Naomi Lucas and husband Darrell both of Morgantown KY; two nephews Jason Lucas and wife Rachel and Adam Lucas and wife Alecia both of Morgantown KY.; three great nephews Jacob, David, and Isaiah Lucas and one great niece Luci Mae Lucas all of Morgantown Ky.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Friday November 5, 2021at 1:00 pm with Bro. Mark Alford and Bro. Rodney Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Temple Hill Church Cemetery where Adam, Jason, Jacob, Darrell Lucas JB Miller, and Parker Smith will serve as pallbearers serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be David and Isaiah Lucas. Visitation will be held on Thursday November 4, 2021 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and on Friday November 5, 2021 from 9:00 am until the funeral hour of 1:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Temple Hill Church Cemetery Fund C/O Rachel Lucas 8876 Brownsville Rd.
