Carolyn Sue Wendle

Carolyn Sue Blaine Wendle, age  69,  of Cromwell, Ky., passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at her residence in Cromwell, Ky. Mrs. Wendle was born March 25, 1944, in Davenport Ky. to the late Cleburne and Susie McPherson Blaine.  She was an independent contractor for Home Health Care and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary, National Rifle Association, International Police Congress and the American Legion.  She was a politician who loved to participate in charity work for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the American Cancer Society.  Carolyn stood her ground and went out with a fight.  Mrs. Wendle was preceded in death by her parents,  sister, Brenda Lou Howard, and her niece Rena' Flener.

Mrs. Wendle is survived by her husband, Charles Wendle of Cromwell, Ky.; 1 son, Cleburne Wendle of Cromwell, Ky.; 3 daughters: Vivian Brown of Cromwell, Ky.,  Lillian Wendle of Cromwell, Ky., and Nora Williams and husband Mike of Beaver Dam, Ky.; 5 granddaughters:  Jennifer Brown of Utah; Feleishaa McKinney and husband Matthew of Bloomington, Il; Glenda Wendle of Cromwell, Ky.; Hannah Williams and Ray-Ann Brinkley of Beaver Dam, Ky.;  2 grandsons:  Joshua Brown of Utah and Benjamain Wendle-Jordan of Florida; 4 great grandchildren:  James LaMar of Utah, Caitlan Vaughn of Fairfield, Il., Nirvana Wendle of Bloomington, Il., and Ares McKinney of Bloomington, Il.; 3 brothers: Tommy Blaine of Champagne, Il., Cleburne T. Blaine of Cowden, Il. and Stephen Blaine of Mississippi; 1 sister, Linda Gaither of Beaver Dam, Ky.; close family friends: Joyce McCrik and Hank and Lydia Meredith; 2 aunts and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be Tuesday, July 23 at 10 a.m. at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Brooks officiating.  Burial will be at Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, July 22 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 23 from 8 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethel Church.
