Carole Lindsey Smith, 73 of Louisville, passed away July 15, 2022. She was born December 15, 1948 to the late Alton and Aline Flener Lindsey. Carole earned her Master’s degree from the University of Louisville. She was a teacher at St. Francis of Assisi and Community Catholic. Being a long-time artist, Carole went on to open her own business called Lionheart Art Gallery in St. Matthews and down town. She was an avid runner, artist, and she always had a smile on her face. Carole was also a devoted member of Epiphany Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 39 years: Gary Melvin Smith, Sr.; her daughter: Lori Kreke (Rachel); her two step-sons: Gary Smith, Jr. (Wendy) and Brian Smith (Amy); her 7 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Rd, Louisville, KY 40223 with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 1-7 PM Tuesday, July 19 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Rd, East Louisville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carole’s name to Hosparus Health of Louisville.
