Carl “Moss” Phelps, 67, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away on Monday, August 31, 2020 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green. He was born in Bardwell, Ky. on Jan. 30, 1953 to the late Clarence and Dorothy Douglas Phelps. Moss was a member of Carve Rock Baptist Church and co-owner and driver at Double P Trucking. He enjoyed singing for the Lord, spending time with his family, 4 wheeling and camping. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Doris Lou Phelps and Brenda White and brother Jimmie Phelps.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Margaret Ann Forbes Phelps; children Timothy Scott Phelps (April Ewing) and Joshua Ed Phelps (Amanda Alford); grandchildren Laela Phelps (Seth Vincent), Alyssa Phelps and Spencer Troutt; great granddaughter Ashlee Nicole Vincent; sisters Elaine Johnson (Bennett) and Carol Givens (Doug); brothers Chester Phelps (Lyda) and Doug Phelps; several nieces, nephews, family, friends and his beloved dogs, Ellie Mae and Miss Ashley.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 2pm at Carve Rock Baptist Church with Bro. Daniel Beaty and Bro. Jimmy McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in the Newton Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, Sept. 4 from 4-8pm and Saturday 10am-12:30pm at Smith Funeral Home and 1pm until time of service at Carve Rock Baptist Church.
