Carl Lee Glasscock Jr

Carl Lee Glasscock Jr., 83, former Spencer County Kentucky Judge Executive passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Baptist Hospital East surrounded by family and friends. Mr. Glasscock was the founder of Glasscock Sawmill, former Spencer County School Board Member, Spencer County Sheriff for 4 years and County Judge Executive for 12 years. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. He started a monthly nursing home ministry and he published a weekly newspaper column in the Spencer Magnet entitled, "From the Word." He was a minister for 38 years and served as pastor of the Mission for Christ Church which he started.

He loved friends, family, conversations of politics and his ultimate passion of sharing scriptures. He was the son of the late Carl Lee Sr. and Zelma Patterson Glasscock He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 54 years Roberta Jewell Glasscock. His daughters Lori Neeley (Charles) of Prestonsburg, KY; Rhonda Boguskie (Russell) of Taylorsville, KY; Cheryl Hughes (Gary) of Morgantown, KY; Monica Kracht (Douglas) of Petersburg, IN; and Marsha Dailey (Eddie) of Owensboro, KY. His sons, Mark Glasscock (Karen) of Bloomfield, KY; Carl Lee Glasscock III (Susan) of Taylorsville, KY. One brother, James Leroy Glasscock (Debra) of Owensboro, KY. 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Services for Mr. Carl Lee Glasscock, Jr. were held Friday, September 27, 2013  at Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home with Brother Gary Mills officiating. Interment in Valley Cemetary in Taylorsville, KY.
