Carl D. Phelps, 77 of Morgantown, Ky. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Carl was born April 2, 1939, in Butler County Kentucky to the late George P. and Esther Webster Phelps. He was a member of Carve Rock Independent Baptist Church and retired from Millers Bottled Gas. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he enjoyed training and working with horses. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one son Tony Phelps, one daughter Connie Phelps, six brothers and two sisters.
Carl D. Phelps is survived by his wife of 47 years, Wanda Mayhew Phelps of Morgantown, Ky.; one son Steven Staples (Linda) of Morgantown, Ky.; two daughters Lisa Ward (Darral) of Reed, Ky. and Twanna Phelps of Morgantown, Ky.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Sunday, October 30, 2016, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Jimmy McIntosh officiating. Burial will be in the Newton Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sunday 11:00 am until funeral time at 2:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
