Buck Givens

Buck Givens, age 87, of Quality, KY. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 16, 2024. He passed peacefully at his home of 87 years. Buck was born on Tuesday, July 21, 1936 on the family farm in Quality to the union of Charlie and Polly Hope Givens. He retired from Emerson Electric in 1994 after 32 years. After retirement he continued to do all the things he loved and enjoyed:  coon, turkey, deer, rabbit and squirrel hunting; watching Kentucky basketball and Braves baseball; farming, tending his garden, driving his tractor, riding his 4-wheeler around the farm and spending time with his family.  Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings Edwin Givens (Dolly), James Givens, Virginia Haas (Bob) and Earline Grubb (Carl).

 

Buck is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Snodgrass Givens; two children Tina Givens Burden (Chris) and Tony Givens (Melanie) of Quality; grandchildren Keesha Wright (Clint) of Lewisburg, Josh Deberry (Shana) of Morgantown, Cody Hudnall, Matt Hudnall (Brittany), Kristen Weathers (Walker), Dakota Givens (Haley) of Quality, Tyler Givens (Hallie) of Logansport and MacKenzie Schwartz (Noah) of Bowling Green; great-grands Keeton and Callan Wright, River and Raigan Deberry, Kennadee Hudnall, Leah Smith, Cash, Waylynn and Hank Hudnall, Emma Clausen, Hunt Weathers, Rory Givens and Gentry Givens; sister- in-law Margie Dean Givens and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 12:00pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Hatcher officiating.  Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and Tuesday from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Smith Funeral Home.
