Bryant Lee Payton

Bryant Lee Payton, 79, of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, July 31st, 2016 at his residence. 

He was born on Thursday, December 24th, 1936 in Grayson County, the son of the late Sammie and Bessie (Fentress) Payton. Bryant was of the Baptist faith. He owned and operated Bryant Payton Wrecker Service, Salvage Yard and Car Lot.

He is survived by his wife of more than 32 years, Linda (Wilson) Payton; two sons, Harlan Payton of Cromwell and Ryan Payton (April) of Caneyville; two daughters, Judy Williams of Cromwell and Lillie Payton of Morgantown; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two special friends, Bobby Young and Alvin Dockery both of Caneyville. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Murvel Payton, Hilbert Payton and Chloris Duggins and four sisters, Gladys Young, Ama Ree Young, Chlois Geary and Zella Duggins.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 3rd at 1:00 pm at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro Phillip Crume will be officiating. Burial will be in the McCanless Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Wednesday after 10:00 am until time of service.

In Lieu of Flowers the family requests donations be made to the Bryant Lee Payton Memorial Fund c/o Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home.
