Bro. Frank Dorris, age 92 of Jackson, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Jackson, TN. Bro. Frank was born on Wednesday, February 18, 1931 in Nebo, Kentucky to the union of the late Brady and Jim Bryan Gooch Dorris and husband of the late Gloria Joyce Joyner Dorris. He attended Georgetown College in Kentucky and Golden Gate Seminary in California. He diligently served the Lord as a pastor in California, Colorado, and Kentucky. He was Director of Missions of the Warren Association of Baptist in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Bro. Frank worked with the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board in Estes Park, Colorado. He served his country in the United States Air Force for four years in Spokane, Washington. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by one son Chris Dorris, His great granddaughter Reese Erin Barker, his four brothers and three sisters. 

 

Bro. Frank Dorris is survived by his daughter Pam Stephenson (Doug); grandson Chad Bates (Leslie); granddaughters Heather Bates Barker (David), and Megan Dorris Queen (Bradford); great granddaughter Maggie Joyner Barker; great grandsons Roman Bates Barker, and Wells Queen and several nieces and nephews. 

 

Funeral services will be held at the Morgantown First Baptist Church Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at 10:00am with Bro. Tim Harris, Bro. Steve Ayers, Bro. Greg Wallace and Bro. Danny Mooneyham officiating. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY where Doug Stephenson, Chad Bates, David Barker, Gene Mattias, Roman Barker, Dennis Ingram, David Hocker and Jay Ingram will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm and Tuesday 9:00am until funeral time at 10:00am at the Morgantown First Baptist Church.
