Billie Jean Elmore

Billie Jean Elmore, 87, of Owensboro died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her home. She was born September 28, 1928 in Augusta, Indiana. Mrs. Elmore was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother that enjoyed bowling, reading and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Denzil D. Elmore on August 14, 2009; parents, Hurley Richardson and Matilda Norrick Richardson; two brothers, Charles and Oral Glen Richardson; one sister, Mildred Hurst Eaton and one daughter, Peggy Lynn Elmore Brown.

Survivors include two sons, Denzil G. Elmore of Lucas Texas and Gregory A. (Marlo) Elmore of Lascassas, Tennessee; one daughter, Cheryl Elmore (Jim) Gerteisen of Maceo; ten grandchildren, Kimberly Thompson of Carrollton, Texas, Amy Elmore of Plano, Texas, Jennifer (Todd) Clark of Morgantown, Jeffrey Brown of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Jason Gerteisen of Maceo, Angela Puckett of Owensboro, Kaitlyn, Nicole, Eva and Annsley Elmore of Lascassas Tennessee; seven great-grandchildren, Garrett and Braden Thompson, Jaydon and Cammi Gerteisen, Jake Puckett, Nathan and Megan Clark.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam with Bro. Larry Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.

The family request expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Western Kentucky.
