Bernice Orange Phelps

Bernice Orange Phelps, 83, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Monday, April 30, 2018, at her residence. Bernice was born September 22, 1934, in Butler County, Kentucky in the Dimple Community to the late Estill "Jack" and Gusta Mastin Orange. She was a member of Woodbury Missionary Baptist Church, retired toll attendant on the Green River Parkway and she enjoyed cooking, reading and genealogy. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by two grandsons-Joshua Phelps and Vince Hutcheson; one brother-Lloyd Orange; one sister Susan Wilcox and son-in-law Charlie Hutcheson.

Bernice Orange Phelps is survived by six children-Vickie Hutcheson, Kevin Phelps (Debi), Howard Phelps (Melinda), Penney Wallace (Mike), Mike Phelps (Shelia) and Suzanna Brosman (Tommy) all of Morgantown, Kentucky; one sister-Patricia Surprenant of West Bend, Wisconsin; 16 grandchildren-Jerrod Hutcheson (Tiffany), Brandon Phelps (Pam), Bryan Phelps (Rachel), Courtney Calloway (Jon), Brittany Miller (Ashton), Shanda Lovell (Brian), Stacey Phelps, Jessica, Jamie, and Jenny Whittinghill, Michael B. Wallace Jr., Jana Schultz, Jason Taylor, Ryan Henderson and Fawn and Fallon Brosnan; 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. with Bro. Murl Gray officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery where her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, from 4:00 pm- 8:00 p.m. and Thursday 8:00 p.m. until funeral time at 12:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to Richland Missionary Baptist Church, 507 Jack Orange Road Morgantown, Ky. 42261 or Woodbury Missionary Baptist Church 2963 Logansport Rd Morgantown, KY 42261.
