Barbara Jean Burden Colter, age 77 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Friday, Oct. 20,2023 at her residence.  She was born on Oct. 4,1946 in Butler Co., Ky. to Silas and Della May Cox Burden. She was a member of Leonard Oak Baptist Church and retired from Foodland. Barbara loved to crochet potholders, embroidery, loved her dog Gizmo and voiced her love of the Lord daily. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David Colter; stepson Terry Slaughter; siblings Anna Lou Woosley, Raymond, Jerry and Ronnie Burden.

She is survived by her son William Tracy Johnson (Heather); step-sons Gary Slaughter (Dawn), David Colter (Debbie) & Daniel Colter; sisters Patsy Moore (Ron) & Peggy Burden; grandchildren Amanda James (Donnie), Tracy Ann Johnson (Daniel), Hailey Johnson, Christopher Decker, Dakota Decker, Lindsey and Logan Slaughter; great grandchildren Jacob & Issac Nelson, Hannah Hunt, Gracie and Gunner Decker and Kyani Williams; her dog Gizmo.

Funeral Service will be held at Leonard Oak Baptist Church on Monday, Oct. 23, 2023 at 2pm with Bro. Roy Alford officiating.  Burial will be at Cook Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Leonard Oak Baptist Church on Monday, Oct. 23 from  11:30 am until time of service at 2pm.   Arrangements under the direction of Smith Funeral Home .
