Arley Poteet

Arley Poteet, 79  of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away  Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab Center in Morgantown. Mr. Poteet was born January 13, 1933 in Edmonson Co. to the late Easel E. Poteet and Mary Adaline Meredith Poteet.  He was of the Baptist faith, and had worked at WRECC many years as a groundman, his first job was as a tour guide in the Great Onyx Cave at the Mammoth National Park. Arley loved to hunt, fish and ride horses. He made knives and loved old cars.  He was preceded in death by two brothers Carl and Arless Poteet, three sisters; Inas Clark, Helen Brooks and Elva Poteet.

Arley  Poteet is survived by  his wife of 52 years Dolores Houchin Poteet of Morgantown,  daughter Wanda Kaye Gaskey and husband Billy Joe of Morgantown, Several nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Diana Whalin Poteet of Brownsville.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at  1:00 p.m. with Bro. Raleigh Blancett  officiating . Burial will follow in the Alexander Cemetery,  in Brownsville, Ky.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 and Wednesday from 8am until funeral time at 1 pm at the Smith Funeral Home. Wanda I did not find out until last night, I am so sorry,it is the worst thing for a family to go through especially this time of year. I will keep you and your husband in my thoughts.
wanda i did not find out about your dad until about an hour ago. i am sorry sorry your dad was a amazing man. i loved him and your mom is a amazing woman also. always loved coming to their house exspecially at halloween parties. but they ALWAYS welcome the baize kids.
